Shubhra Mani is a self-taught contemporary abstract artist who lives and works in Texas, USA. A native of New Delhi, India, her colorful paintings pay homage to her journey from childhood. Her distinctive personal style emanates freedom and expresses the vibrant spirit of her soul and the culture she grew up in. She is a self-driven, extremely talented artist and has innate ability to create art beyond boundaries.

During early years in her childhood she got inspired with colors and local craft while traveling across India. As a child, Shubhra received various prizes and accolades for her intrinsic talent when she started doing sketches, drawings, and paintings for fun.

Shubhra has developed her own visual vocabulary and inimitable style. As with utmost proficiency she invites us to view the abstract art world as a magical, fluid and invigorating panorama. Through her paintings she provides us with an experience of the abstract universe with a new expansive and compelling perspective.

Shubhra believes that creating abstract art is a way of self- expression and individual spiritual journey. It is a therapeutic, intuitive and meditative way of expression. It is a reflection of ideas, communication of different moods, emotions and compassion. Amalgamation of influenced thoughts and personal techniques to create synergy of feelings gives depth to her art work.

Most admirable is her versatile creative approach in using different colors, metallics, textures, contrasts, layering techniques in brushwork and mark-making. As a superb colorist she integrates a range of contrasting and complementary colors with uncontrolled confidence.

Shubhra creates art primarily on Canvas, wood panels and other objects per client’s specification. Her medium includes, but is not limited to acrylics, watercolors, inks, gauche, glitters and mixed media. Her abstraction process uses different techniques, composition and unconstrained color energy. She has also incorporated Use of different tools like paintbrushes, palette knives, wedges, scrapers, sponges, texturing tools, and fingers to create fusion of abstract and intuitive layers. Her skillful use of brushes, palette knives and other tools further expand her visual palette.

Shubhra Mani works closely with her clients and designers. She has sold, exhibited and taught her art with clients and students located in India, United States, Brazil and UK. She has a presence in social media platforms where she actively shares her work on a regular basis.  Recently she has also taken up digital art to bring an extensive mastery of color theory, innate sense of rhythm, and compositional elements to the 21st century art world.

Shubhra loves to receive feedback and discuss different inferences from people observing her abstract art. During art gatherings she loves to talk about her journey, thought process and life cycle of the art work to express her drive behind the work.
